| A bold 10-year research initiative aimed at converting knowledge of the human genome into effective, individualized medical treatments was the driving force behind creation of Biomedical Research Building 1, a 916,000 sf facility combining both research and hospital functions to accelerate the pace of discoveries and cures in the field of translational medicine. Located at the heart of the Washington University School of Medicine/BJH Hospital campus, the two-phase project will house five multidisciplinary centers, including Washington University's cutting-edge Center for Cancer Genomics, and catalyze multidisciplinary collaboration between Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital research programs through the use of shared spaces strategically located throughout the building. | |
