| The facility when completed in 2010 will increase
teaching and research space for the Department of Chemistry and
Biochemistry, the Institute of Neuroscience and the School of
Biological Sciences. Kewaunee Scientific High Performance LV fume hoods were selected by the University after an intensive performance evaluation of competitive fume hoods. LV hoods outperformed all others. The building will become one of the "greenest" buildings on campus; featuring FSC certified Maple casework and recycled steel in all Kewaunee fume hood and metal casework components. Additionally, the building will incorporate rooftop solar panels and a green roof. The solar array will be used to heat water and will be the largest solar hot water array in the state of Texas. |
