| Pharmacia was the first project to receive "Gold Leed Certification." Building Q boasts 150,000 square feet of laboratory space to house the company's Discovery Chemistry researchers and scientists. From the beginning of design, Pharmacia set a goal to create a green lab facility, one which used less energy, was constructed using recycled materials and promoted the physical well being and creativity of its occupants. C.E. Shomo & Kewaunee worked with Pharmacia's in-house design team as well as Flad & Associates to create a unique vertical electrical, communication, and mechanical distribution system for the laboratory benches that provides for increased lab space utilization and long term flexibility. This project has been a strong success in maintaining a long-term client, as well as building a strong new relationship with Flad & Associates. | |
