| Statesville, NC, August 5, 2005—Employees of Kewaunee Scientific gathered around the company flagpole Friday morning to capture a visual greeting, which was later sent to American Troops serving in Iraq. The company color of the day was definitely red, as many who posed for the photo were wearing bright red shirts and accessories during the outside event.
For Terisa Morrison, who works in the company’s Customer Service Department, the morning flagpole assembly held with co-workers was especially significant. Her son, Josh, is presently serving in that far-away country more than 6,500 miles away from his former home in Statesville.
“We just wanted Terisa and many other Associates on our team who have friends and relatives serving on behalf of our country to know that we appreciate the dedication of these brave men and women,” said Debbie Brower of the Human Resources Department. “The difficult duty being performed and the sacrifices they are personally investing to help keep our country free makes us all very proud.”
The smiles and waving hands from the large Associate crowd shown in the photo was captured under a bright blue Carolina sky and quickly sent by email to several troops currently serving out of country.
Thankful for the support and buoyed by the show of unity by her co-workers, Terisa and others fully intend to keep “Red Friday” at Kewaunee going for the foreseeable future. “It’s all about connecting our troops in service stationed at far away places with the people back home,” she observed. Obviously, she knows lots of people at Kewaunee who agree.
